PIONEER STAFF RENAISSANCE UNIVERSITY UGBAWKA, ENUGU NIGERIA
The pioneer Vice Chancellor of Renaissance University resumed duty on Friday, 10 November 2006 after an Interdenominational Service. The search for the right man was long but exciting as it involved virtually everybody. Advertisements were placed in newspapers, posted on the website and personal contacts made to renowned academics. The Board of Trustees and the Council were looking for a man who would lay an indestructible foundation on which the Renaissance University dream would be realised. The qualities being sought after included ‘can-do spirit’, strength of character, sagacity; savvy, intellectualism, honesty, erudition, etc. The long search yielded the required result as a professor of high repute who had served meritoriously as the Vice Chancellor of Abia State University and a Professor on Sabbatical at the University of Nigeria Enugu Campus. Please meet Prof Ogwo Ekeoma Ogwo. A Nigerian Professor of Marketing since October, 1991; and Vice Chancellor, Abia State University, Uturu from September 2000 to September 2005, and a Sabbatical Professor in University of Nigeria Enugu Campus (UNEC) from where he was appointed the Vice Chancellor of Renaissance University.
