Fulbright Award goes to Professor Ogbureke
The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB)
has selected Dr. Kalu Ugwa Ogbureke for a Fulbright
award to Nigeria.
The FSB is a presidentially appointed 12-member Board
that is responsible for the selection of Fulbright recipients
and for establishing worldwide policies for the program.
The Fulbright award grant I made possible through funds
that are appropriated annually by the U.S. Congress and,
and in many cases by contributions from partner countries
and/or the private sector.

The selection for a Fulbright award is in itself an achievement for which the recipient
and the recipient’s family, friends, community and well wishers can be justly proud.
Fulbright alumni have become heads of state, judges, ambassadors, cabinet
ministers, CEOs, university presidents, etc. They have been awarded 40 Nobel Prizes.
Fulbrighters enrich the educational, political, economic, social and cultural lives of
countries around the world. Fulbrighters are expected to be involved in the
community while on the Fulbright exchange, in order to demonstrate qualities of
service, excellence and leadership that have been the hallmarks of Fulbright program.
The Igbere Community congratulates Dr. Ugwa Ogbureke for this exceptional
accomplishment.
